SCENE FROM THE STATION AGENT ::
Watched The Station Agent with Lindsey last night. Great film. About a dwarf that loves trains but hates life. He’s so sick of people’s shit that he decides to move out into the middle of nowhere. He immediately, but reluctantly, meets a couple of people who practically demand to be friends with him. There’s a few pretty strong themes (communication, solitude, death) that are pulled throughout all of the characters and woven beautifully into the movie. When the movie ended I thought, “that was pretty good.” The more I think about it, though, the more I like it.
The director, Thomas McCarthy, has a new movie coming out called The Visitor. Supposed to be out pretty soon and should be good. I’m looking forward to it.
