Tell Me About It, Son
April 18th, 2008I’ve already got a place to post polished designs, culturally relative links, and big projects; it’s called The Match Factory. I’m not ruling out the possibility of including that type of stuff within these blog-shaped walls. But I am saying that I don’t want this space to be confined to those parameters. I might post really stupid shit on here that I find online. Or I might simply give a review of the movie I plan on seeing this weekend. But I think I’ll largely be posting happenings in my life and various things that interest me.
Something that’s always inspired me creatively is comic books. There was a dark period in my life when I didn’t read them. A few years ago I started reading them again, and it’s come back in a big way. Turns out there’s more than just super heroes, though I rarely read stuff that doesn’t include some element of the fantastic. Right now I’m reading the third graphic novel of The Swamp Thing. Written by the infamous Alan Moore. This dude writes comic books like he’s writing a novel. We’ve got pictures, so you would think he wouldn’t need to be as descriptive. But, not so, my friend. Not so.
